Aluminum Grade Classification Part 1

1000 series: 1000 series aluminum is also called pure aluminum, which represents 1050, 1060, 1070 and so on. Among all series, the 1000 series contains the most aluminum, and the purity of aluminum can reach more than 99.00%. Because it does not contain other technical elements, the production process is relatively simple and the price is relatively cheap. It is currently the most commonly used series in conventional industries. The 1000 series aluminum plate determines the minimum aluminum content of this series according to the last two Arabic numerals. For example, the last two Arabic numerals of the 1050 series are 50. According to the international brand naming principle, the aluminum content must reach 99.5% or more as qualified products. For the same reason, the aluminum content of 1060 series aluminum plates must reach more than 99.6%.
 
2000 series: main brands 2A16 (LY16), 2A06 (LY6), etc. The 2000 series aluminum is characterized by high hardness, of which the content of copper is the highest, and the content is about 3%-5%. 2000 series aluminum sheet belongs to aviation aluminum material, which is not commonly used in conventional industry.
 
3000 series: main brands 3003, 3A21, etc. 3000 series aluminum has a high content of manganese, with a content between 1.0% and 1.5%. It has good anti-rust ability and is mainly used in humid environments such as air conditioners, refrigerators, and under-vehicles.
 
4000 series: the main brands 4A01, 4000, etc. The 4000 series aluminum has a high silicon content, usually between 4.5%-6.0%. Mainly used as mechanical parts, forging materials, welding materials, etc. Low melting point, good corrosion resistance, heat resistance, wear resistance.
