Aluminum Grade Classification Part 2

5000 series: main grades 5052, 5005, 5083, 5A05, etc. 5000 series aluminum has a high magnesium content, with a magnesium content between 3% and 5%. The main features are low density, high tensile strength and high elongation, so it is commonly used in the aviation industry, such as aircraft fuel tanks.
 
6000 series: main grade 6061. Among them, the content of magnesium and silicon is high, so the advantages of 4000 series and 5000 series are concentrated. It has good corrosion resistance, oxidation, easy coating and high strength. Mainly used in aircraft parts, camera parts, couplers, joints of marine parts and hardware, electronic accessories, decorative hardware, hinge heads, magnetic heads, brake pistons, hydraulic pistons, electrical accessories, valves, etc.
 
7000 series: the main grade 7075. The zinc element content is high, belongs to super hard aluminum alloy, has good wear resistance, one of aviation series aluminum. Mainly used in the manufacture of high-stress structural parts and molds that require high strength and strong corrosion resistance. At present, this series of aluminum basically depends on imports.
 
8000 series: commonly used grades 8011, mainly used for bottle caps, radiators and other aspects.
